The Occasion

At the invitation of the Harmonie Musicale de Thierville, the Band made its first trip abroad, travelling to Verdun in Northern France. Also heading for Verdun was the Orchestre von Oberndorff am Neckar.

So there we were, a Scottish, a German and a French band, brought together in a town which had witnessed one of the worst battles in history. Our purpose? To present a joint concert in celebration of peace.

It was a significant occasion in the short history of the Capital Concert Band, an occasion of great music-making and socialising.
