The Capital Concert Band is Edinburgh's new dynamic Wind Band!
It was formed in February 2004 by a small band of musicians who wished to create a unique ensemble where a friendly atmosphere and an enjoyment in music-making were paramount. This outlook has enabled the Band to attract new members not only from in and around Edinburgh but from as far afield as the Borders, Strathclyde, Stirlingshire and Perthsire. The Capital Concert Band aims to give enjoyment through music and to provide the public and members with access to a wider variety of music by the presentation of concerts, open rehearsals and master classes.
The band also seeks to support other voluntary sector bodies, local authorities, Scottish government departments and any other interested bodies, through joint concerts and promotions, and to provide equality of access to playing members, non-playing members and to the public who come to listen.
